Kerala , a small state surrounded by the sea and subtropical mountains, is often the favorite of travelers .This can be attributed to its stunning mountain landscapes, spice and tea plantations, beautiful tropical beaches, and serene boat rides on the backwater canals. Cities here are human-scale, the cuisine fresh and flavorful, and the hospitality courteous and caring.

 

 

Day 1: Bangalore Airport – Shravanabelagoda – Hassan     215 km - 4 h

 

Pick - up from Bangalore Airport

 

Your driver will be waiting for you upon your arrival at Bangalore Airport, and you will head towards Hassan with a stop at Shravanabelagola.

 

Shravanabelagola, home to the giant of Karnataka, is considered one of the largest monolithic stone statues in the world. 

Like a beacon, the colossus Gomateshvara appears to protect the city and guide the traveler with benevolence. A significant site of Jainism, this city of rocks and palm groves exudes tranquility.

Day 2:  Hassan - Belur - Halebid - Hassan      90 km - 2h30 

 

Visit two architectural masterpieces of the Hoysala kings.

 

Belur was the capital of the early Hoysala empire. Its Hindu temple Chennakeshava, also known as the Vijayanarayana temple, reflects the ingenuity of the Hoysala builders.

 

A monument of stunning beauty, the Hoysaleswara temple is located in Halebid, the capital of the Hoysala empire in the 12th and 13th centuries. The richness and intricacy of the sculptures represent the accomplished style of Hoysala architecture.

Day 3 & 4:  Hassan - Srirangapatha - Mysore      126 km - 3 h

 

Sri Ranganathaswamy temple in Srirangapatha is dedicated to Ranganatha (a reclining form of Vishnu) . It is part of a group of 5 temples located along the Cauvery River , all dedicated to this god . 

 

Mysore and its incredible palace illuminated with a thousand lights. But this city has much more to offer: a century-old flower market , Indo- Sarcenic architecture , a sanctuary to Nandi open to the four winds on Chamundi hill.

 

On Sunday evening , the palace is illuminated with several thousand bulbs between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.,making it the highlight of the Mysore visit. (illuminated only on Sunday evenings and public holidays )

Another national park to explore . It is contiguous with the Mudumalai National Park (Tamil Nadu), the Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary (Kerala) and the Nagarahole National Park.

The Stonehouse, built in 1822, is one of the architectural treasures of the city, and Saint Stephen's Church are remnants of the time when India was an British colony .

The Palakkad region is a major rural rice-growing area in the state of Kerala. It's a relaxing stopover in a beautiful guesthouse. Places to visit include Palakkad Fort or Tipu's Fort, the Malampuzha Dam, and Gardens. Palakkad is famous for its Silent Valley National Park, which houses a diverse range of flora and fauna. Nature enthusiasts will be delighted.

A small hill station, at an altitude of 1524m , Munnar is located in the middle of the most spectacular mountainous landscape in southern India .

 

Munnar is calm Kerala. It is a place of rejuvenation and hiking .

Visit around Munnar with very beautiful views and observation of elephants in total freedom in Anakulam.

In the evening Kathakali show which is between dance and theater or Ayurvedic massages

Day 16 : Munnar

 

We can reserve a guide for a hike in the plantations (guide required).

  • 12 km hike from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.​ with breakfast and water.

  • 24 km hike from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. with breakfast , lunch and water.

Following the half-day hike, we offer a cooking class - purchasing the necessary ingredients from the local market, meal preparation, and tasting. To conclude this busy day, there's an opportunity for tea tasting with explanations of different production techniques.
